As soon as I stepped foot in Tokyo in 2008, I knew I had caught the travelling bug. I decided I didn't just want to travel I wanted to experience the world! The different cultures, the people, the sites and most importantly (to me) the food!

Recently I have started to develop an interest in photography and hope to improve my skills while doing what I love most.

Welcome to my journey........

Spring is finally here and so are the hundreds of couples.

I heard before coming here that the weather changes overnight and it certainly is true. One day it was winter and the next, all the Korean girls forgot to put their skirts on! In Korean women don’t show any breast bone or shoulder (heaven forbid!) but they can go around with their pants on show.  Along with the lack of skirts come the hundreds of couples. I thought it was just me who noticed that Seoul seems to have move lovey dovey couples than anywhere else in the world (take that Paris) but my friends have noticed too and we want to punch them all. Seriously, I don’t know who is more annoying the adjummas or the couples. At least the adjummas don’t get in your way or make you want to puke up so 1-0 to the couples. You may think I’m being harsh but until you have experience the full blown cuteness of Korean young couples then you can’t comment!
They wear matching couple outfits (yes, you heard right and I will get a picture one day….), they walk slow everywhere, they have to always touch each other, the guy has to protect his GF on the train (maybe I can understand this one as the adjummas are in full force on the trains), the GF has to act all childlike/cute (seriously you’re a 20+ year old woman), we have had a few grinders (you guys don’t need couple outfits), they are EVERYWHERE, even though you don’t want a BF/GF you are made to feel like a weirdo for not wanting one (case in question ‘Black day’ – will write more about black day underneath) and my final point I shall tell you with a picture not words……

At least he can claim that none of his girlfriends have left him....
It’s not just me who feels this way. Most people I’ve spoken to want to punch them or kick them.  It must be a spring thing or maybe it’s because there seem to be a holiday every month for couples… which leads me on to black day. First things first…..
‘Valentine’s day’ Feb 14th – On this day girls gives guys chocolates they made to confess. Then there is ‘White day’ March 14th – On this day guys give white foods to the girl they like (marshmallows etc.).Then there is the joyful ‘Black day’ April 14th – Single girls must eat black food or they will forever be single. Pretty harsh…. I reckon a guy started this one. And just for the record I had the spectrum of colours in my food that day mwhahahaha.
So spring is here and out come the blossoms. We thought we would go to a festival as we are only here once and we though why not. Big mistake! The station was crazy. There were police directing people and the escalators were stopped. Mental! All for some pink flowers. The festival wasn’t even a festival. Just some food stalls and people walking under the trees. Wasn’t the best day I’ve had to far but the weather was good. Forgot to mention I had to queue up for 30 minutes for the toilet! What do people do in the loos I will never know!! Nearly peed myself and everything!! Anyways here’s some pictures of the cherry blossoms.
