As soon as I stepped foot in Tokyo in 2008, I knew I had caught the travelling bug. I decided I didn't just want to travel I wanted to experience the world! The different cultures, the people, the sites and most importantly (to me) the food!

Recently I have started to develop an interest in photography and hope to improve my skills while doing what I love most.

Welcome to my journey........

Exciting news!

Booked my ticket to go home for one month!! Yay!! England watch out! I'll be home on the 10th January feeling pretty jet lagged haha.
I was in Yongsan for the Jimjilbang. My friend had to cancel coming so I went by myself. I actually liked it a lot. Of course I like going with friends but I also really like going by myself and relaxing. I finally managed to go in the hottest bath! yay!!! And because it is cold outside, the outside baths feel much warmer and refreshing. I also got a whole body massage. She put cucumber on my face and gave me a head massage! It was great!! I will make my mum go when she comes to Korea even though she says she won't!!!

Seoul Fortress hike

I went for a hike with my language exchange partner whom I refer to as Adjusshi as he acts older than he is haha! ^^ He took me to Seoul fortress. Though I realised yesterday we never got to see the good temples in my book. I might have to persuade him to go again one day!! Haha! He knows me blog address so if you are reading this, you have been pre-warned mwhahaha!!!

The large section had been closed off and open re-opened recently. You’re not allowed to take photos on this area sadly as it’s near the blue house etc. It’s guarded by soldiers throughout that section and you need your ID card to enter.
We actually walked a lot that day!! Adjusshi wanted to collect some stamps that are meant for kids *cough! Seriously though, I very much nearly died that day. Luckly I brought some doughnuts to see me though the day.
Dunkin Doughnuts lunch!

Seoul fashion week Spring/Summer 2012

I went to a fashion show last Saturday. It ended up being a men’s fashion show but I decided to look on the positive side and be happy I can perv at sexy men :p  OMG! The amount of people there!!! It was mental!!! >< We had to wait in a queue for ages. But it wasn’t a normal queue they made sure everyone squeezed in as much as they could!!! Talk about being sardines. When we finally went in we were right at the back.

The fashion was interesting. There was one outfit that looked straight out of ‘Sailor moon’ and some that looked like they were copied from ‘Final fantasy’. The designers influence was defiantly Japanese anime.

We ended up going out after to meet Melissa’s friend from Canada. We hung around Gangnam for a few hours and I ate not one but two sandwiches!! Oh yeah! Good times!

We ended up going to a club but I had been wearing heels for 10+ hours by then so I just wanted to sit down. The club is mental. It was NB in Gangnam. I talked to my Co-teacher about this club and they said it is quite famous for grinders (guys who like to sneak up behind) and ‘bad guys’.

I have officially decided I am mentally too old for clubs. My bed time is 10pm and the clubs don’t really get started until 1am!!!

Update

Sorry I haven’t updated in donkeys years but I’ve been so busy with work and just tired.

So I re-arranged by apartment to make it more homely. I will post pictures soon. I also got some cute apartment stickers.

Work has been pretty crazy. I spent last few weeks decorating the classroom and it still isn’t up to my standard. I don’t have much material to work with at all but I will try my best. I had an open class on Wednesday which went ok but it turned out we had the second worse 5th grade class. My official open class to decide if I can stay should be soon. I also have my after school open class on the 9th November. Add to the fact I have to lesson plan and start preparing with winter camp. Things are pretty busy….. I know I’m stressed as I break out in spots when I am stressed.  Can’t wait for January!

Next Monday is Halloween so I’m going to dress up as a Korean ghost and scare students. My 6th grade will probably laugh AT me but at least my 5th grade will enjoy it and laugh WITH me!

Will post pictures on Tuesday!

Seoul fireworks festival.

On Saturday, I went to my co-teachers house to meet her dog! My nan has Yorkshire terries so I was so shocked when I sae my co-teachers dog. It is so tiny. About a third of the size of a normal Yorkshire terrier!

The dog was so cute! It was nice playing with a dog again. I miss my dog so much!!! ><

After we went for shubu shubu (not sure how you spell it as I call it shovel shovel!). It was so yummy!!! :D My co-teacher was an expert at cooking it. By the time we finished the fireworks had already started and we still had to get the train to Yeouinaru.

Shabu shabu

We got out at Ichon which was quite far from where the fireworks were actually happening but the station was packed. It fact the whole 30 minute walk to the fireworks was packed. I have never seen so many people at once in my life!!! By the time we made it to the fireworks it was 9pm and they just that minute finished!!!!!!!! >< *sobs

My co-teacher decided we should walk to a further station. It turned out that station was express bus terminal. OMG!! We were all dead by the end of the night!!!

Turned out there was over 1 million people there that night!!

Waffles!!

I went for the biggest waffle at butter fingers! >< Seriously, I have to use pictures as you won't be able to imagine the size!!

Butterfingers - Before!

After!

After we went for a walk around Jeongja to burn off the waffles. The area is very posh! The apartments are all new and each have a small park. My dream is to live here haha!

Biking at Yeouinaru

About 1-2 weeks ago (I can't remember!) I went biking at Yeouinaru park. The weather was perfect as it was bright yet not too hot out. We rented a bike from by the river for a hour which cost 5000won for 2 bikes. my bike was named rusty as it was the oldest bike ever and everyone could hear me coming towards them.

We rode along the river on the bike lanes. It was suppose to be a peaceful ride but I have never been so stressed. No one does anything by halves here. When people bike they are serious. I was being over taken by fast serious bikers, right, left and center. They all have the expensive bike and equipment. I don't mind being over taken but those bloody bells. When I was in Japan I was told not to ring my bell as it's considered rude but in Korea that's all people do! Even when no-one is around!!!!!! I can't describe how much I hate bike bells now after that day. ><

Anyways, after 30 minutes I told my friend we should head back but she said we could go around the whole island if we followed the route. So we rode and rode..... My friend kept saying she knew where we were going..... at the end we came to a dead end and it turned out we were in Sindaebang. We turned back on ourselves. I can't descibe how much my bum hurt >< After 3 hours we made it back to the bike stand. I could not walk as my legs were like jelly.

Seriously, I could not sit on my bum for 3 days!! My co-teacher at work kept laughing at me walking up the stairs haha! :D

P.s. I had so much candy floss that day!! yum!
